The scramasax was carried by Vikings and Saxons, who took their name from them, from the 4th through the 10th centuries. It was used as an eating utensil and general tool, as well as a close quarters weapon. Due to the unique blade shape, they could pierce chain mail. They were worn crosswise in a sheath, carried at the front of the body. This scramasax features a 7 1/4” dropped point, flat ground, hand forged 52100 high carbon steel blade with a 5" false top edge, hardened to HRC 62. The knife is 12” overall, with a Bloodwood handle and hammered Brass fittings. $239 SOLD
