Hammerhead Hawk @ 2008 Michael H. Mara

This frontier tomahawk features a 6 1/8” head, hand forged from a ball peen hammer head, which I believe is 4140, with a slightly dropped point and 2-3/8" rear spike. The design includes a forged and etched finish, and a convex ground edge, hardened to HRC59. The balance of this tomahawk is perfect, it almost floats in the hand. The hawk is 13 1/4” overall, with an Osage Orange handle and wrought iron pommel, from covered wagon wheel rims, extensively fileworked. It includes 2 honey horn beads and a Pheasant feather, attached via a rawhide wrap. Currently there is no sheath, but one can be made, for additional cost. $371 SOLD
