Differentially hardened Hunting Utility Knife

Super Slicer Utility Knife @2009 Michael H. Mara

 This hunting / utility knife features a 7” upswept point flat ground W2 blade, with hand rubbed finish. The spine was coated with refractory clay prior to heat treating, so the blade is differentially hardened to HRC 62 at the edge, while the spine is dead soft. This creates a superb blade that will take and hold an incredible edge, while still being flexible and tough. This differential hardening is an ancient technique and creates a visible temper line, known as a hamon. The knife is 11 3/8” overall. The hunter is full tang construction, with Kingwood scales and a 1/4" choil, brass bolsters and pins. Durable, tough, and a high performance knife. $426. SOLD
